The ideal candidate will be responsible for simultaneously translating written and spoken communication from English to Japanese and Japanese to English. The role requires not only language proficiency but also a deep understanding of cultural nuances to ensure accurate and effective communication. **Key Responsibilities:** - Translate documents, presentations, emails, and other forms of communication from English to Japanese and vice versa. - Interpret during meetings, conferences, and phone calls as needed. - Ensure that the translated content is culturally appropriate and maintains the original meaning and tone. - Proofread and edit translations to ensure accuracy and consistency - Collaborate with other team members to support cross-cultural communication. - Conduct research on industry-specific terminology to ensure clear and precise translation. - Meet deadlines and manage multiple translation projects simultaneously. **Requirements:** - Proven experience as a Japanese Translator or in a similar role. - Excellent proficiency in Japanese and English (both written and spoken). - Strong understanding of cultural differences and the ability to adapt translations accordingly. - Excellent communication and organizational skills. - Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. - Proficiency in using translation software/tools is a plus. - Optional: Any relevant certification such as JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) N1 is preferred. - Must be able to keep items confidential at all times, information should be shared only on a need to know basis **Preferred Skills:** - Experience working in Japanese OEM manufacture (if applicable). - Knowledge of technical, legal, medical, or business terminology (if applicable). - Strong teamwork and collaboration skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) **What happens next** Once you apply, you'll proceed to next steps if your skills and experience look like a good fit.
