In this position, the Human Resources Generalist will work closely with the HR Manager to provide HR support in the areas of employee relations, talent acquisition, talent management, training & organizational development, compensation & benefits administration, headcount reporting, AAP and EEOC Compliance, communications, payroll, and other HR administration. 

This position supports the Light Vehicle Systems and Commercial Vehicle business HR teams with a dual reporting relationship.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Provide HR support for designated corporate groups located at our Maumee, OH and Novi, MI locations by engaging in the following activities:

  • Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding data changes, talent management, compensation, policies, procedures, engagement events, and employee relations issues for corporate populations
  • Timely processing of employee hours in eTime and processing payroll requests such as tuition reimbursement, shoe reimbursement, etc.
  • Coordinate and perform all onboarding and offboarding for corporate populations, including 30, 60, & 90 day new hire reviews and exit interviews.
  • Partners with Dana’s global mobility team in reviewing upcoming visa actions to ensure alignment with business needs
  • System expert for SuccessFactors, Employee Central, SAP, HireRight, SharePoint, payroll workflow and HRSS tracker

 

Provide HR support for global business unit HR activities such as:

  • Prepare, analyze, and own global Business Unit HR reporting in support of monthly business unit strategy meetings. This includes pulling system reports and being proficient in Excel to pivot data and create formulas.
  • Support global annual processes including: merit and AIP planning, goal setting, and mid-year & year-end performance review support and calibration
  • Support employee engagement survey and action planning initiatives
  • Support global BU talent management activities and follow up on key actions and development planning in preparation for business unit talent management committees
  • Training compliance and follow-up
  • Business Unit HR projects and event support as needed

 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required

• 1+ year HR related experience, including co-op experience

• Understanding of HR Law including FMLA, ADA, HIPPA, EEOC, ADEA

• Natural ability to build strong working relationships with organizational leaders

• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize according to management directives

• Must have strong problem solving skills, and creativity

• Good judgment and use of common sense and tact are extremely important

• Strong computer skills required, including experience with Microsoft Office

• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills are strongly preferred
