Purpose of Role
W e are seeking a highly skilled Editor to join our dynamic team. The Editor will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, clarity, coherence, and consistency of all written materials produced by our agency. This individual will collaborate closely with our content creators, subject matter experts, and clients to deliver high-quality, scientifically accurate content across various platforms in health-literate, relatable language for patients and caregivers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Editorial oversight
Provides editorial leadership and guidance throughout the content development process, ensuring adherence to industry standards, AMA style, regulatory requirements, and client specifications

2. Content review
Conducts thorough reviews of written materials, including brochures, PPT presentations, emails, SMS messages, call guides, and others, to identify and correct errors in spelling, grammar, syntax, style, and formatting
3.
  Quality assurance
Ensures the accuracy, consistency, and coherence of all content, verifying factual information, verifying citations, and cross-referencing data as needed

4. Style compliance
Maintains consistency in writing style, tone, and voice across all materials, aligning with client preferences, brand guidelines, and industry best practices; creates and maintains brand style guides 

5 . Collaboration
Works closely with copywriters, behavioral scientists, account team, strategists, and project managers to clarify objectives, address feedback, and incorporate revisions in a timely manner and within allotted scope/hours

6.   Regulatory compliance
Ensures that all content complies with relevant regulatory requirements, including FDA guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and industry codes of content

Preferred experience and skills

• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
• 2-3 years of experience in editing, at least some time with a healthcare communications/pharmaceutical advertising agency
• Strong understanding and/or ability to easily grasp new medical terminology, scientific concepts, and healthcare trends
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under tight and competing deadlines
• Proficiency in AMA and other medical style guides
• Familiarity with content management symptoms and editing software (eg, PHQ, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat); knowledge of AI editing tools (eg, Draftable) a plus
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Additional skills/capabilities required:

• Manage resourcing across projects/prioritize work
• Microsoft Office skills – specifically high levels of competency with Excel and PowerPoint
• High level of comfort with social media/digital solutions
