Associate Attorney
Our esteemed national law firm, dedicated to representing American Indian tribes and organizations, is currently seeking a Senior or Junior Associate Attorney to join their team at the Louisville, Colorado office. With a focus on tribal and federal Indian law, particularly in social services and/or child welfare matters, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing legal counsel and representation to our valued clients. This is an in-office position with a great firm!
Minimum Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school.
Active membership in good standing with the Colorado Bar.
Preference for experience in tribal and federal Indian law.
1-5+ years of litigation experience.
Strong analytical, research, and writing abilities.
Effective in both independent work and team collaboration within a dynamic environment.
Comfortable and willing to travel extensively for client meetings, court appearances, and administrative hearings nationwide.
Proven track record of clear and persuasive communication with Tribal clients, federal, state, or tribal agency representatives.
Responsibilities:
Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in a professional and timely manner.
Participate in business development activities to maintain and cultivate client relationships and identify new opportunities.
Collaborate with Indian tribes or tribal entities on a diverse range of legal matters, including but not limited to business transactions, housing, education, finance, gaming, government affairs, litigation, social services, child welfare, energy, natural resources, and taxation.
Utilize legal knowledge and expertise to advise clients on various legal matters.
Conduct thorough legal research and prepare necessary documents for tribal, federal, and state litigation proceedings.
Represent clients at hearings and trials, including appearances in tribal courts.
Draft and review legal agreements and documents.
Adhere to all court, state bar, and firm policies and procedures.
Our office specializes in providing comprehensive legal services to tribal clients in areas such as education, housing, and taxation, in addition to general tribal legal counsel services.
Compensation:
Salary: $100,000 - $135,000 depending on experience
